An utter pleasure to listen to.

I Now Understand Why SHINHWA Reign The Kpop Industry.

I watched their live comeback Venus on Music Core and I can safely say that i’ve never seen men that mature sing like they do.

Honestly, i was quite worried at first. I knew that fans would turn up but I thought that they wouldn’t be able to pull it off, being already in their thirties and having a long break from their last few live performances.

But, I soon saw that I didn’t need to worry.

They were utterly amazing.

As the first guy (not the rapper) actually sang, I was literally like, “What the hell? He has a voice…”

Of course, there were weak spots in the performance; the levels were a bit out and they seemed very nervous, but I genuinely applaud them and feel that the fans of SHINHWA who stuck by them for years or months prior to their comeback should certainly be proud.

I think it must be really hard for them singing Venus, I mean, the style of music has changed in indefinite ways since they last promoted.

Listen to Perfect Man (Yes, I did my research) and compare it to Venus. I would have liked them to have tried to adopt their own style considering the respect they have, but of course, that’s a risky job to handle even as veterans.

Some of them were a bit stiff, and the touching of young women part was really weird, but I loved it.

This is what I want to be like when i’m their age; wise, smart and can still rock a good tune.

Bravo SHINHWA, You were utterly mind-blowing.

Venus by Shinhwa is under the control of good hands, because multiple CF director Kim Kwang Suk is producing it!

Although I’m not used to seeing such mature men on screen with such a young foreign lady, I can sure get used to it!

At first I thought it was just an average teaser, with the guys chasing after the girl like always, but just before they introduced the chorus a really eerie sequence of images happened; including the shattering of the earth and the dog barking and I really did get creeped out.

Kudos.

SHINHWA Gone Twilight?

Shinhwa has since released little news about their comeback apart from the details that Britney Spears’s producer will be working with them.

On Friday, they released a new concept photo with the six of them in blood red suits. Apparently it’s supposed to give off a vampire feel, but I think it would work better if their faces were zoomed up a little more and the background black; it would accentuate the paleness of their faces.

I don’t know if you can feel it, but the ground beneath me is rumbling, ready for the explosion that is THE RETURN.

The Return

Now that the last member of SHINHWA has been discharged from military service (Minwoo), the group are preparing for their first independent concert in four years.

It will be called ‘The Return’, and it has been awaited anxiously for years by many fans.

Shinhwa is one of the legendary bands of the Hallyu group and is the longest running group to have still stayed as one.

They will hold the concerts on March 24th and 25th to celebrate their 14th year.

It’s in about three weeks, and if they can pull it off, i’ll be damned.

Minwoo has just been discharged and if he can bust out some moves and some vocals in three weeks, well then I can safely admit that they are amazing.

Maybe I should start listening to them…
